The Wavlink WN551X1 is the 1-pack version of Wavlink’s Halo Pulse AX3000 WiFi 6 dual band mesh system. Each unit delivers up to 573Mbps on 2.4GHz and 2402Mbps on 5GHz with 160MHz bandwidth, five 5dBi antennas, one Gigabit WAN port, two Gigabit LAN ports and a USB 2.0 port. Wavlink rates the 1-pack for up to 1,600 sq ft of coverage and more than 256 connected devices.
Slow, patchy WiFi in back rooms and drop-outs as you walk around the house are common with a single older router. The Wavlink WN551X1 uses WiFi 6 with 2×2 MU-MIMO, OFDMA, beamforming, BSS colouring and Target Wake Time to carry more devices with less congestion and lower latency. As a single unit it works as a capable WiFi 6 router on its own, and you can add more compatible Wavlink mesh units later, up to seven devices in total, as your coverage needs grow. Touchlink lets guests join by touching the WAVLINK logo instead of asking for a password, and WPA3 security, VPN support and parental controls help protect the household.
Who is the Wavlink WN551X1 for?
This system suits households with lots of phones, laptops, smart TVs and smart home gadgets, as well as people who work from home or game online. Connect the unit to your NBN modem with the supplied network cable and place it centrally in a small to medium home or apartment. Later, pair another compatible Wavlink mesh unit with the Pair button to stretch coverage further. Set up and manage the Wavlink WN551X1 through the mobile app or the web interface at wavlogin.link, choose mesh, repeater or AP mode, and use QoS to give video calls and games priority. Plug a printer or USB drive into the USB 2.0 port to share it across the network.
Wavlink WN551X1 key features
- AX3000 dual band WiFi 6: Up to 573Mbps on 2.4GHz and 2402Mbps on 5GHz with 160MHz bandwidth, giving fast, responsive WiFi for 8K streaming, video calls, online gaming and large downloads.
- Seamless mesh roaming: Units share one network name, so devices roam without manual switching. Coverage reaches up to 1,600 sq ft for this pack, and the network can grow to a maximum of seven devices.
- Touchlink guest access: Guests press the WAVLINK logo on top of the unit and can connect within two minutes (by default) while the sensing pad blinks blue, so there is no need to share your main password.
- WiFi 6 efficiency: 2×2 MU-MIMO and OFDMA let many devices talk at once, beamforming directs signal to each device, BSS colouring cuts interference, and Target Wake Time reduces power use on supported devices.
- Security, VPN and parental controls: Supports WPA3/WPA2 mixed and WPA/WPA2-Enterprise encryption, OpenVPN, WireGuard and ZeroTier VPN options, plus parental controls to limit children's access times.
- Gigabit ports, USB and three modes: Each unit has one Gigabit WAN, two Gigabit LAN ports and USB 2.0 for printers or drives. Run it in mesh, repeater or access point mode via the app or web interface.
