Is TX-231 laminated?

Will TX-231 fit a TZe P-touch?
No. TX tape uses a different, larger cassette made for TX-series P-touch machines. It won’t fit printers that take TZe tape.

How to load the Brother TX-231

  1. Turn the label maker off and open the tape compartment cover.
  2. Lift out the old cassette.
  3. Check that the end of the new tape runs under the tape guides and that the ink ribbon is not slack. If it is, wind the spool clockwise with a pencil until it is firm.
  4. Press the cassette in until it sits flat, close the cover, then turn the machine on and feed a short length of tape to take up any slack.

Applying labels so they last

For the best hold, apply labels to clean, dry, smooth surfaces at room temperature and rub them down firmly. Laminated TZe labels resist water, abrasion and fading, which makes them suitable for shelves, cables and equipment. Stored this way, an unopened Brother TX-231 stays ready for clean, crisp labels whenever you need it.

Storage tips

Keep spare cassettes in their packaging in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Store them flat so the tape and ink ribbon stay wound evenly, and use them within a reasonable time for the best adhesive performance.
