The Canon NPG-45 colour drum unit replaces the colour drum in Canon copiers that use NPG-45 consumables. A new drum is the usual fix for faded, streaky or spotted colour output caused by wear. Keep one on hand to avoid downtime in a busy office. If you are unsure which part you need, send us the code from your current unit and we will check it for you.

Key details

Canon IMAGERUNNER C5051, Canon IMAGERUNNER C5045

If you print often, keeping a spare Canon NPG-45 Colour Drum on hand saves downtime when the current one runs low.

Good to know

How do I confirm NPG-45 fits my copier?
Check your copier manual or the label on the existing drum and toner for the NPG-45 code.

Should I replace toner at the same time?
Not necessarily. Drums and toner wear at different rates, so replace each when the copier reports it.

How to fit the Canon NPG-45 Colour Drum

Turn the printer off and open the cover that gives access to the drum unit.
Remove the old drum unit, following the arrows or levers marked on the part.
Unpack the new drum unit, remove any protective covers, and slide it into place until it locks.
Close the cover, turn the printer on and reset the drum unit counter from the maintenance menu if the printer asks you to.

Storage and handling

Keep the new part in its packaging until you fit it, and store it flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Avoid touching surfaces such as the drum or belt, because fingerprints and scratches can mark your prints.

Delivery, returns and support

Orders are packed within 1–2 business days and sent with tracking to every Australian state for a flat $19.99 delivery fee. Change your mind? Let us know within 30 days of delivery under our returns policy, and faulty items are covered by Australian Consumer Law. Not sure this is the right part for your machine? Send us your printer model and we will confirm before you order.
